Book 4: Helping Zephyrus

Stavros’s POV 

I reached the prison complex but didn’t have the heart to see Lena. Was she alive? I met a guard who had just gone off duty. 

“What’s the news of the war prisoner, Trenton?” I asked him. 

He gave me a grim look. “Lena Warrick?” 

“Yes. Is she alive?” 

He nodded, and I released the breath I was holding. “Beta Stavros, we’re waiting for further orders. The prisoner still hasn’t opened up and Gamma Leandros has ordered us to throw her in the dungeons to rot to death. We can’t follow his orders without consulting Alpha Zephyrus.” 

“Yes. Wait for Zephyrus’s orders. She’s his mate.” The guard gave me a horrified look as if this was news to him. 

“Oh, should I release her?” I shook my head and went inside to check up on Lena. I had almost gone halfway down the corridor when Trenton came rushing after me. 

“Alpha Zephyrus is here!” he announced, and I whirled and dashed out
