Hazel’s POV 

I drove away from the packhouse, far away from Stavros and his new mate. My heart bled, yet I refused to shed tears for him. His bipolar attitude confused me and disturbed me at the same time. 

My phone buzzed with an incoming call from Aunt Carmen and I knew they realized I had left. I just hoped they wouldn’t come over to Lucania to get me. It was true I was struggling to find work, but I refused to go back to Fairbanks. Maybe with time, I would find something here I could enjoy. 

I drove on dejectedly when my gaze fell upon the rear-view mirror. Why was Stavros following me around in a black Chevy Silverado? Hadn’t I left him with Crystal back at the packhouse? Why was he stalking me? 

‘Maybe he’s going home. It’s on the way, remember?’ reminded Zea, my wolf. She would know better with her advanced senses.
