Chapter 35. A Thorn That Hurts

“You—you… how dare you!” The furious voices of Princess Fiona and Lady Hildred reverberated through the air, punctuated by the sound of objects crashing and shattering in the background.

Evangeline’s keen eyes narrowed thoughtfully as she recognized the familiar voices. It was none other than Princess Fiona and Lady Hildred engaged in what appeared to be a heated confrontation.

Sensing trouble brewing, and Myra, extremely afraid of trouble, gave Evangeline a knowing look. “Gina, let’s go,” she whispered, gesturing toward the exit.

Evangeline responded with a subtle nod and followed Myra as they discreetly retreated from the scene, not wanting to be involved in the next scene.

As they reached the dining area, Evangeline couldn’t help but wonder about the cause of the commotion. It wasn’t often that the princess and Lady Hildred clashed, and that too with Lady Hildred coming to visit the princess.

After they finished eating, they returned to their room, a
