Book 3: Hiding from Eros
Anacá's POV
I unloaded the grocery items from Aunt Charlene’s car and carried them inside the house.
“Oh, you’re here already. Did you get a discount?” asked Aunt Charlene as she made dinner for us.
“Yes. Only 10%.” I dumped everything on the kitchen counter, and Aunt Charlene checked them. “I’ll freshen up and join you.”
I walked away to my room absent-mindedly. It had been almost two weeks since I had left Eros. Apart from the few missed calls and messages, there had been no contact from him. I was too hurt to respond to his calls or messages earlier. But now, my heart and mind felt hollow. I was living like an automaton, doing things I was told to do.
It seemed I had left my heart and mind in Athens. Eros didn’t care. He hadn’t even bothered to know where I was. Aunt Dana and Uncle Jeremy were the only ones who cared. They didn’t let me travel alone after seeing my condition. I could hardly walk.
