I stood transfixed to the spot, watching Eros enter with his luggage. He looked so tired, with dark circles around his eyes. But it was the ominous look on his face that made me apprehensive. Why was he angry with me? Shouldn’t I be the angry one here?
“What a pleasant surprise, Eros? You gave us a fright. Why didn’t you call to inform us of your arrival?” Aunt Charlene hugged him while I stood watching them, unable to welcome him like my aunt did.
“I didn’t get the time to call. I returned from a work trip and came here.” He gave me a scornful look, as if holding me responsible for his hectic schedule. Who asked him to come here? He could have enjoyed himself at his house with his wh*res.
“Oh, do you want dinner?” Aunt Charlene led him to my bedroom before I could stop her.
