Book 3: Eros’s Ultimatum
Anacá's POV
“You’ll be discharged today, Anacá. Are you feeling better now?” asked Mr. Murphy, my neighbor. After a day in the hospital, I really did.
“Yes, thank you, Mr. Murphy. I’m much better now.”
After returning home from LA, I had gone to their house to fetch Lucy, but fell unconscious. Mr. Murphy and his wife, Deborah, revived me. Lucy was pregnant with Pilot’s pups, and I had to leave her with them before heading to San Francisco. Now her delivery was due any day, and Deborah didn’t want her moving around.
Once better, I went back to my dad’s house next door, but depression, dehydration, and insomnia took a toll on my health. Although Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Dana wanted to help me, I cut myself off from them. I didn’t want to be associated with Josh in any way. After his behavior, even his parents were ashamed of him and respected my wishes.
