Eros's POV
“This is against our company rules. No female employee should stay back after 9 p.m.” Dad’s stern voice lifted my guilt. So that was what she was here for—to complain about me! I seethed with fury, the guilt evaporating into the air.
Dad gave me an annoyed look. “What’s going on, Eros? Why was she working so late?”
I racked my brain to think of an excuse. What could I say? I lost my mind out of sheer jealousy and forgot the company rules.
Anacá gasped and gave me a nervous look. “Dad, you’re misunderstanding me. I couldn’t complete the work on time. So I stayed back. Eros had asked me to leave, but I need this job badly.”
I scowled at her. Was she crazy? How could she complain to Dad about my threat to her?
