Chapter 66. Unmasking

Caroline's POV

I walked through the forest, going to the place set for the meeting between Philip and Marcus, but that only led me to an old empty building. I cautiously walked to the window. There was light emitting from a candle in the room and I could see the silhouette of two men in the room.

They seemed to be engrossed with what they were saying. I strained my ears to listen to what they were saying, and I finally could hear them after a while.

"You think this plan would work if you lure them? I don't think there should be an alliance between your pack and mine. You were recently involved with the MoonHunters. What happened to you both?" He asked.

What was he saying? Why was he referring to the MoonHunters as if he weren't from there? I found it weird that he was acting as if he wasn't the one that brought about the alliance.

Was I missing something? I felt like there was an important detail that I wasn't getting.
