Sean’s POV
“Did you love her?” Iris asked.
I looked at her and didn’t know how to explain it. “She was the only girl I had allowed myself to get close to, so I must have liked her really much!” I answered. I didn’t want her pity. If I said I loved Lila Martins, Iris might think that just like her, I was heartbroken and still was.
“Aren’t you?” Sly whispered in my head.
“I am sorry to hear all that. It seems you had a very hard childhood unlike what I thought,” she said.
“You thought that as the only child, my parents must have pampered me silly and I am so spoilt I do not know the meaning of suffering?” I supplied for her.
She was shocked as she stared at me open mouthed. “How did you know that was what I thought?”
“I get that a lot, but that’s not me,” I smiled, adopting a carefree attitude. “Enough about me. Tell me about yourself.”
