“If she decides she doesn’t want you back, probably because there’s someone else, already in her heart, promise me you will let her go and not make her life harder by persisting? After all you want her to be happy, don’t you?”

I felt pity for him because I wasn’t sure if he and Iris could get back together or not. But I hoped for the best for both their sakes.
