Damien’s POV

“Like now?” My eyes widened. She’s gotta be kidding me! I wasn’t even prepared!

“Yes!” Kiana responded.

“Wait why? Well I was thinking maybe sometime this week but not today,” I explained to Kiana. She clearly does not understand the pressure on me right now.

I wasn’t ready… I had planned on looking for a script to read to Anita on how much I love her and the kids. The script wasn’t even ready!!!

“Well, maybe we can stay back and wait to see it on the news: ‘A mother of two and her children were massacred in their apartment with no signs of forced entry or the killer. The victims have been identified as Anita Brandon, reportedly the ex-bride of Mr. Damien King. Speculation is rising about the wedding scandal from five years ago. More updates to follow.’ Boop! Your whole career’s about to end up in the sewage!” Kiana said, dripping with sarcasm while Alvin and I just stared at her, mouths hanging open.
