Damien’s POV

The door flung open, and the sight of what I saw wasn’t what I was quite expecting. I can’t believe I was saying this, but I felt relieved for a second that it wasn’t Anita.

It was cornflakes; now that he was close to me, I could run a few punches at him for always touching and distracting Anita.

But I decided against it.

He stood there and just looked quite shocked and unfazed. We started at one another for about five seconds, like there was no one else around us, for crying out loud. Kiana, Alvin, and even the kids were present.

“What’s with the half-way in and out? Did you forget some?” Her sentence was about to end until she saw the situation in front of her.

Anita stood still when she finally reached the door, maybe after noticing that Richard, her supposed co-worker, didn’t lock the door.

I froze immediately. I saw her, my greatest fear, but my most beautiful treasure was still in front of me.
