Chapter 39
Anita’s POV
The cab guy I boarded was doing a great job by trailing the taxi Richard had entered earlier. I had also made sure to leave spaces between the two cars.
We trailed for about 20 minutes, and strangely enough, we went deeper into the woods of New York. Places I hadn’t been to before.
I started to feel like I was in a strange place.
I finally asked the driver to stop on a dark, shadowed side and drop me off. I had bargained to pay him whatever it cost; I just wanted to know what all that call was all about.
The driver thanked me and zoomed off, while I remained there, wandering in the shadows.
This area where I found myself was looking so deserted and luxurious at the same time. It was old, but I could see light turned on in houses. It was an evening time.
I had spotted Richard wandering off into the woods, and I followed.

I took careful baby steps as I followed him closely at the back without him
