Anita’s POV

“What are you doing here? Why did you come back?” I asked Damien, who was standing behind me. I didn’t even want to look at him, not for now.

“Anita, I…”

“Why did you come back, Damien?” I sternly asked, fighting back my tears and the stream I was bottling up inside.

“I came back because I wanted to apologize—on my own, just the two of us,” he claimed.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I wondered what his apology would do.

I’m trying so hard to forgive him!

I eventually faced him, and I could tell that I felt indifferent.
