Damien’s POV
My ride back to Albany was silent. Obviously, there was no one else with me, but the car ride was really peaceful.
Norman had agreed to help me based on only one condition—
that I would never ask him to do it again.
He was only helping me this once, and after that, it was over.
I tried convincing him to accompany me back to Albany, but he refused. He assured me he was going to visit around.
I stared at my house, which was barely five minutes away, but I needed to do something else.
I needed to visit the family house—where it all began.
“Mom, I really miss you,” I expressed as the tears flowed down my eyes.
The pictures were still hung up; everything in the huge mansion was still in place, and I also had housekeepers clean the house without my dad’s knowledge.
