Chapter 16
Henry stood with a perplexed expression on his face when they halted their discussion after spotting his presence.
“Did I interrupt anything here?” he asked.
“No, not at all, sir,” Sia stood up immediately and begged to be excused.
“Weren’t you trying something, Sia?” Madison asked her.
“No, no, I wasn’t,” Sia objected.
“If you want to say something, I can at least step out,” Nathan proposed. “Don’t feel intimidated because I’m your boss,” he added.
Sia kept insisting that she had nothing to say. Madison had no choice but to let her leave. Although she was surprised, she knew Sia had wanted to say something. She must have pondered on what influenced Sia’s decision.
Sia was excused; she was allowed to sign out. It was a Monday, and the Westbrook Corporation was always very busy on Mondays. Madison kept using her hand to massage her neck because she had been sitting for hours, maybe three or more. She didn’t know if Nathan was still in the off
