Chapter 10. Coincidence
Before she met Ezekiel, she detested unforeseen visitors.
They were viewed as an inconvenience and a waste of time by Rachel. She found the pointless catch-up conversations to be the most annoying. When Rachel had a visitor, all they did was talk for a few minutes and pretend to laugh when she could have done something for a modest accomplishment.
Her blood boiled at the thought of lying. She made it through without giving Luther’s letter much thought. After a long day at the neighborhood bar, Rachel has lost the desire to kiss him on the lips. She discovered one thing about their relationship: betraying someone’s trust is the same as putting yourself in danger of losing your mine.
Change will always renege on a promise, no matter how many times it is made.
She walked in holding her skirt softly and her melancholy countenance brightened.
