Chapter 32. Solemnly Taking the Offer
It brought a stretch of silence. Ezekiel’s heart must have stopped. What kind of an absurd offer is it?
Does he even hear the words right? Rachel was tense, as if waiting for his response, that may or may not come. Ezekiel pulled back, looking at Rachel’s eyes deeper, and asked, “Can you repeat what you reiterated?”
Rachel felt like melting. She had been wondering how long it’d take before buffering those words. She said it for her own sake. Rachel wanted not a clean and unwounded cut, but rather an abrasive one. Something that can damage Luther more than she experienced.
“Be my temporary lover, Ezekiel. Just… momentary, a brief love.”
Ezekiel blinked for a while before starting, “You want to do that fleet of love with me?”
