Mr Augustus never acted like this. Why would he call her and just agree to give her a second chance just like that?

“Oh.. thank you, sir.” Lucy played along.

“But on one condition.”

Lucy's heart dropped.

“Which is?” Lucy couldn't help but feel like he was going to ask for something impossible for her to do and if she didn't do it, it would be the end of her career.

She swallowed the lump in her throat as she waited for his reply.

“You will spend a night on my bed.”

Lucy was restless throughout the night, she thought about what Mr. Augustus told her and wasn't able to come to a decision. Lucy was not the kind of woman who went about sleeping with men for a favor but this time around was different.
