Scarlett’s POV
I finish off my meal and lay flat on the grass, gazing at the stars. He’s just a born sociopath, then. Maybe a little psychopathy in the mix.
“Don’t tie me up this night. Please? I’ll behave.” I say, not like a plea. I doubt he’d listen to me, but I just try because...why not?
“Trust, when broken, is hard to build back. I told you this, remember?” He says. Yup. He’s not going to listen. “The only reason I wouldn’t tie you up is because I know you won’t try to escape again. At least not at night.” He chuckles.
I hate that he’s right.
