Chapter 73
Scarlett’s POV
When we arrive at Washington DC, the HQ of the FBI, Gage’s condition worsens as the flight conditions weren’t at all favorable for him. He spirals between consciousness and his wounds begin to bleed again.
His pale face and labored breathing don’t get past my notice and my heart races in my head.
“He’s dying!” I cry and all the paramedics on board hastily lower him down from the chopper.
“Don’t close your eyes, sir!” They urge him and I keep tapping him to stay awake. His eyes open but they lose focus and roll back into his eyes sockets again.
“Gage, don’t do this to me. Please don’t do this to me.” I sob as I keep tapping him to stay awake.
His eyes don’t open again and his breathing is almost unnoticeable. Nurses run up to join the paramedics as they wheel him in with my sobbing self tagging behind them, trying to keep up with their speed.
