Chapter 75

Gage’s POV

The thought of her being surrounded helplessly by Valentine shoots me up from the bed and the nurse gasps in surprise.

“Sir, you can’t leave now.” She tries to take hold of my arm, but I shake myself free from her hold and she almost falls at the ferocity.

“I’m sorry. I have to find her now.” I say with determination, straining myself to leave the room.

The nurse tails me, trying to dissuade me from leaving the hospital but my mind is already set on getting to Scarlett. I enter into the closer and throw on a decent enough pair of scrubs and when I’m out, the nurse is nowhere to be seen much to my pleasure.

What was Scarlett thinking? I remember telling her not to leave without my permission or without my presence to accompany her.

What trouble has she gotten herself into?
