Chapter 12. Graves
Back in the hideout, Relian was putting his old clothes back on.
“You really like wearing those stinky clothes, huh?” Kai asks.
“Harder for the beasts to catch my scent,” the older Hunter replies.
“Also my axe was still in this coat,” and he opens his coat to reveal the silver axe hanging off a belt.
“Is that why we came back?”
“Among the reasons,” Relian says. “We still have some time before going out on patrol, and I need a nap,” and he pulls out a bottle of liquor.
“Drinking again?” an inquisitive voice asks, and a balding man in simple brown robes approaches the two Hunters.
“You know we have to build a tolerance Brother Volo,” Relian retorts. “The brews we drink to fight beasts are quite potent.”
“Yes, but you drink right before you sleep, then you wake up with a headache and regrets, as opposed to having it with meals like everyone else. Perhaps you’d like to talk about it?”
“Sure,” Relian starts, “right after I finish this
