Chapter 20. Revelations

Enshin could feel his legs wobbling as he took his first few steps out of bed. “So how are you feeling?” Brother Volo asks.

The Hunter looks down at his shaking legs. “How do you think?”

“Hmm… Have you ever seen newborn fawns trying to walk; they’re all trembling as they take those first few steps? It’s a truly wonderful sight.”

Enshin scans the room. “Have you seen my axe?”

“I think Alexei might have taken it to get it sharpened,” the monk replies as he takes a step back.

“Alright,” and Enshin slowly shuffles for the door.

“You’re certainly raring to go, aren’t you?”

“Moving around is the best way to get the blood flowing, heal faster.”

“Just don’t push yourself. Do you want to take this on your walk?” and Volo holds out a bag holding an empty pot. “If you’re confident, perhaps you can deliver it today.”

The Hunter allows the monk to put the bag on his back, and he asks, “What about the wake for our losses?”
