Chapter 13. Storm
Alex hums as she lovingly brushes out her silvery blonde hair, gently letting the combs pass through her straight locks. A knock at the door made Alex sigh; it was four o’clock and way too early for her to start dealing with anything. She unlocked her door and was greeted with Maisy standing at her door with a pail and rag. “Oh, hello Maisy,” the woman says with a warmer tone. “Don’t worry about me; I’ve been keeping my flat neat and tidy. Would you like to check anyway?”
The young maid gives a nod and steps into the flat, taking off her shoes at the door.
Maisy started with inspecting the edges of the walls, the corners of the room, and the various nooks and crannies. She went over to the drapes and slowly went behind the blue curtains to check the windows; sure enough, the windowsill had gathered trace amounts of mildew.
