Chapter 23. A New Enemy
It wasn’t even six o’clock as the two Hunters made their way back to the hideout. They navigate through the more cramped alleyway paths instead of risking another flour bomb on the streets. Even then the calls of the town crier echoes through every street. “… Hunters fail to kill the beast! Results in the death of the bishop! Head priest steps down for an early retirement!”
“I thought that old codger was excommunicated,” Alexei comments.
“Mmm,” Enshin half-heartedly grumbles as he keeps a hand to the walls. He was dragging his feet, and his face was still puffy from crying, making it hard to see.
“So… what are you planning to do about the werewolf? I know you’re not planning on letting it get away a second time.”
