Chapter 15
I watch him walk away, the blue business suit on him makes him look regal.
“Robert?” I call after him, and I make a frustrated sound with my teeth.
I walk towards him, but he’s not making it easy, for he keeps walking away from me.
That wasn’t normal. Did I trigger him by letting his hand go? Does this have to do with some kind of trauma?
Considering I have faced a boatload of trauma myself, I can empathize with him. A lot of tiny things can trigger me too.
“Robert, wait!” I say again, and before he can climb the staircase, he stops and turns to me.
“What!?” He yells in my face, causing me to flinch.
“I’m sorry.” He says softly when he notices how his yelling affects me.
“No, I’m sorry,” I say to him.
“What are you sorry for?” He asks, and the pain I hear in his voice makes my heart break.
