Chapter 18

“Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Spongebob Squarepants!”

What am I hearing?

My eyes flutter open, and the first person I see is Chad.

Wait, Chad?

Chad is supposed to be in London. He lives there.

“Chad?” I try to speak, but my voice barely comes out.

He is sitting on the floor next to me, watching something on his phone with great attention.

He hears me trying to speak and he looks at me.

“Oh, you’re awake.” He places his phone in his pocket.

“How do you feel?” He asks.

I watch his face and he looks worried. Well, he has no reason to.

“I feel quite fine,” I reply to him as I start to get up.

“No, stay down.” He says with a comforting smile.

I like it when he smiles.

“I like your smile,” I tell him, and he snorts out a laugh.

“You always tell me that, it’s getting old.” He says jokingly.

“Well, not to me,” I reply.

“I was hearing a weird song when I first woke up,” I say as I sit up
