Chapter 16

A sharp pain arrests my nose and I let out a string of cusses.

The white airbag is still inflated and I begin to pat it down until it deflates.

I cough a few times as I try to get full awareness of what has happened.

Looking forward, I see Victor’s car upside down as smoke rises from it. It is badly smashed, but what startles me is that I see the man crawling from the almost destroyed vehicle.

“Oh no you don’t,” I say as I try to remove myself from the car. The entire front of my car is smashed in, and if it was smashed in a few inches more, I would have been dead.

“Come off,” I say as I try to free myself from my seatbelt. It won’t come loose.

When I look forward again, I see that Victor has successfully escaped his car, which could blow up anytime, due to the amount of smoke coming from it.

I try my best to reach into my leather jacket, and I remove my dagger. When I do, I slice the seatbelt off, and I open the door of my car.
