Chapter 17
Alessa knew that the Villaruiz couple might not immediately agree to her decision, but there was nothing they could do. She didn’t want to be Elijah’s private nurse anymore and didn’t want the young man to think that she had just accepted the job because of the money.
“Alessa, maybe you can wait for Elijah?” asked her mother.
They were currently in the mansion library with her parents and Elijah’s parents.
Alessa bowed and bit her lower lip. “I’m sorry. I think it’s better that someone else be Elijah’s nurse.”
She had no intention of telling them the main reason why she resigned. She just said that she couldn’t handle his behavior, which she knew was shallow.
“I know some people who can be his nurse. Don’t worry. I will help you find a new one,” she said shyly.
She heard her Aunt Sheila sigh, then nodded. “Alright. It looks like there’s nothing we can do, Alessa. I’m sorry if Elijah scolded you.”
Alessa felt that her friends were not happy.
