Alessa’s POV

I was quiet until Beatrice arrived where Elijah and I ate. The two immediately discussed what our plans were today. I just listen to them and let them decide what we will do. From time to time Elijah’s gaze goes to me, but I ignore him. I didn’t want to be rude, so I just remained silent. I know that my husband is trying to make me feel okay whenever Bea and I are together because he has asked me several times that it seems like the thing I should answer is about Bea.

I don’t know if Bea could sense that I was out of the mood, that’s why she asked Elijah. “Is Alessa okay?” she asked softly, which I also heard.

I didn’t notice or hear what Elijah’s response was because I focused my attention on the cell phone I was holding. Not that I was noticed. My husband knows that I’m jealous every time I see that the two of them are super close, but it seems like it’s too hard for him to avoid his friend. It’s funny to think that I wasn’t too jealous of Mae
