Chapter 7

Armando was a fun person to talk to, and Alessa found comfort in his presence. Despite his young appearance, it wasn’t obvious that he was a doctor. He had graduated early and pursued his profession diligently. He was only one year older than Elijah, and they were the closest cousins on Uncle Jose’s side.

“To be honest, we were also surprised by what happened to him. Elijah is a talented car racer, and we never expected him to have an accident while driving,” Armando spoke with admiration for his cousin. “Now we’re struggling with his situation. Before, he was just blindly in love, but now… he’s literally blind in one eye.” There was a tinge of pity on the young man’s face, but Alessa knew it was meant to reassure her.

“The important thing is that he’s alive, right?” she said, trying to provide some solace. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for her former friend. No matter what he did, she sensed that a significant part of his personality had changed.
