Chapter 9
Alessa felt annoyed with Elijah as she cleaned her wound. After washing the cut finger, she immediately applied alcohol to it. Her feelings towards the young man were nothing but annoyance.
“How dare he do that? The audacity to waste food. Doesn’t he know that many people don’t have enough to eat? That’s just wrong!” she muttered to herself as she placed a band aid on her cut finger.
Alessa went to the storage room where the mop and bucket were kept, picked them up, and crossed the hallway to the second floor. She was only on the third step when one of the maids called out to her.
“Alessa, what are you going to do?” It was Kimmy.
“I’m going to clean Elijah’s room,” she replied.
“Let me do it for you,” Kimmy offered, stepping closer.
“I can handle it, Kimmy. Just follow me and bring another basket for dirty clothes,” Alessa said as she walked towards Elijah’s room.
