Chapter 11. Just One-Night Stand
Mikaela was about to go to her office when Sam's smiling face greeted her, causing her to pause and swallow really hard. Mika stood nervously in front of Sam, her eyes locked onto his as she struggled to find the right words. Their steamy night together was still fresh in her thoughts, but she knew it would never happen again.
"I-I think we n-need to talk, Sam," she said, her voice was barely above a whisper.
"I think so, too."
Mika took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come. "Sam, I think we need to forget about that night we spent together," she added quickly.
His brows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean by that, Mika?" he asked.
Mika took a step closer to him, her eyes pleading. "I mean, we can't let it happen again; it was a mistake, a weakness. We're both drunk, and we can't let it destroy our friendship."
