Chapter 54. Her Anger
As Mary sat at the kitchen table, sipping her coffee, the early sun warmed the room. A knot of worry tugged in her gut as she recalled her talk with Sarah the night before. Sarah had approached Mary with trepidation, delivering news that threatened to tear the delicate fabric of Mary's world apart.
"Are you two doing well?" she asked to Mary, frowning at her.
"What exactly do you mean?"
"You won't believe what I saw, Mary," Sarah had said quietly, her eyes wide with worry. "I saw Sam yesterday at the hospital. He was talking to another woman, and by the look in his eyes, it appears that he and that woman had a history. I heard it was Mika."
"Are you certain it was Mika?" Sarah asked, confidently nodding her head.
