Chapter 56. Her Evil Plan

As Mary stood face to face with the guy, she had hired to remove Mika from her life, the dimly lighted warehouse was fraught with tension. Her rage bubbled beneath the surface, fueled by the agony she'd felt for far too long. The man, shaking with fear, had failed to finish his job and now confronted Mary's wrath. 

"You incompetent fool!" Mary screamed, her voice trembling with wrath. "You had one simple task, one chance to rid me of that wretched woman, and you couldn't even do that?" 

The man shifted anxiously, sweat dripping from his brow. "I-I'm sorry, Miss Mary," he said. "There was a snag; things did not go as planned." 

"Complication?" Mary scoffed; her pupils constricted. "I don't want excuses, I want results!" "Do you have any idea what I've been through because of her? The sleepless nights, the tears, the constant ache in my heart?"
