Chapter 57. Grateful to Have Him
“You need to rest now,” Sevi said over the phone to Mika.
“Yeah, I will. Good night.”
“Yes. Good night.”
Mika rested on her bed; her exhausted body encased in warm covers. She had planned to sleep peacefully, but her mind had other ideas. The unsettling memories returned as she closed her eyes, causing her heart to speed and her body to quiver.
Suddenly, the vivid image of that fateful day flashed before her eyes. She was walking alone down a dimly lit street, the sound of her own footsteps echoing in her ears. Out of nowhere, a man appeared, his face obscured by the darkness. In his hand, he held a gleaming gun, its barrel pointed directly at her.
“You should stop hurting other people’s feelings,” it echoed repeated on her head as she was closing her eyes. “You should stop hurting other people’s- “
