Chapter 71. Wounds of the Past

Sam's voice trembled with concern and rage. He couldn't figure out why Mary seemed so concerned about taking the phone away from him. He sensed there was something she wasn't telling him, and it piqued his interest even more. 

"That man..." Mary's voice shakes. "That man was threatening me," Nathan's eyes widened when he heard her say that. He had not anticipated this happening. He expected Mary to reveal to Sam that he is Mylene's biological father. 

As he listened to Mary's faltering voice, Sam's mind was filled with a mix of uncertainty and concern. Nathan was caught off guard by her comments, which slashed through the air like a sharp sword. He hadn't expected Mary to tell lies, especially about someone like him. 

Nathan's heart fell as he realized the seriousness of the issue. He had hoped for an honest disclosure that would pave the way for his connection with Mylene, but suddenly he was met with an unanticipated stumbling block. His thoughts r
