Chapter 10
She plastered a fake smile on her face as she walked back into the office and dropped the tray of snacks and coffee on Tristan’s desk.
Tristan scowled. “This is my workspace, Pat. You can’t just come and make it your dining table.” He glanced at Jolene and thanked her, feeling uncomfortable in her presence without an idea.
“Hey, be calm. You can always have them clean it, and it is not as if I am going to mess up the whole place. Of what use is being the owner of a company if your fiancée comes on a visit and can’t be entertained?” She puffed.
Tristan growled and said nothing. She took a cookie and pushed it into his mouth, giggling as he huffed and tried not to eat it. Jolene stood there, her legs unwilling to move as she tortured her heart by watching the scene before her.
Tristan frowned as he saw her still standing there. “Oh, Jolene, you can go. I will call for you when I need you.” With a pointed glare at Patricia, he added. “When my guest is gone.” Jol
