Chapter 42. A Rebuke
“Not so. Never mind, you can continue your work,” Harry said then. His disappointment had multiplied; he was fed up and did not want to linger here. Watching Alice’s pitiable face just made him hesitate, as if Harry was the bad guy here.
Not long after, Harry walked away, leaving Alice there. However, just a few steps away, Harry came back again.
He knocked twice on Alice’s desk as a warning, making Alice look down guiltily.
“If you still want to work here, you must understand your duties as a secretary. Remember one thing: your boss’s needs come before your work at the computer. Without me explaining, you’ll understand.” Harry advised the woman firmly, while Alice just listened silently with her face downcast.
