After we finished our meal, Ian left me alone in the kitchen while he went off to his room to attend to some mysterious tasks that left me completely clueless. With a sigh, I rolled up my sleeves and set out to set to work with the aftermath of our feast that scattered across the table. Each plate and utensil received my utmost attention as I gingerly placed them in the sink, preparing myself for the impending dishwashing session.

As my throat grew dried out from the cleaning efforts, I took a momentary pause to satisfy my thirst with a cool glass of water. The refreshing liquid cascaded down my throat, livening up my senses. In that quick break, my mind became a whirlpool of thoughts, drowning me in a pool of uncertainty.
