Chapter 45
Time continues to pass, but it seems like nothing has changed at all. Ian, always one to embody the traits of reservedness, repression, and a quiet, inexpressive demeanor, still maintains his cool as a cucumber facade, showing no sign of empathy or concern for anything or anyone. He remains ignorant and inconsiderate, completely oblivious to the well-being of his friends. It is as if he has perfected the art of isolating himself, just like he always has. And to make matters worse, he has reverted back to his old, self-centered ways, only looking out for his own interests.
Lost in my own thoughts, I snap back to reality when Paul suddenly speaks up beside me, jolting me from my contemplation. "Don't worry about that guy, he is perfectly fine," he reassures me. "He has always been like this, even when his girlfriend passed away. We have all come used to it."
