Jaya watched the school children into the school, a smile plastered on her face. Their colorful uniforms reminded her of her times as a student. The sky-blue shirt, which was worn by everyone and paired with trousers or skirts for the male and female senior students, respectively, or pinafore dress and shorts for the female and male junior students, made the students look divine. It was one of the most beautiful things she loved to see on a new week.
She stood underneath a mango tree to protect her bronze skin from the harsh rays of the sun. She taught the senior secondary school two (SSS2) students biology, and her kind attitude made her loved by all her students. She tugged the loose strands of her thick, black hair behind her ear and bounced on her feet impatiently. This was the only part of her job that she hated.
