Ivy purses her lips but doesn’t dignify his obvious flirting with a response. She pushes away the rest of the omelet she’s eating and excuses herself. George waits a few seconds before excusing himself as well before leaving the dining room. I look at the older Moonstones who are shaking their heads and laughing in amusement at the male shifter’s behavior.

“That’s a Moonstone trait,” Alpha Gerald says. “We find something we like, and we go after it–no questions asked.”

“I don’t think Ivy is interested,” I reply. “Besides, if she was his mate wouldn’t he know already?”

“George doesn’t want a mate,” Another of the brothers, Tommy, points out. “He wants a… friend in the meantime.”

Amanda chides him. “Tyler. Don’t talk like that in front of Alpha Emory.”

“I’m just being honest.” Tyler shrugs.

Amanda sighs. “We have your sister back with us. That should be all you boys focus on for now. Leave that poor girl alone.”
