Chapter 25
Dr. Elliot Baker sauntered into the laboratory for the third time this morning, holding a test tube in hand. The laboratory technician, a young female intern who went by the name of Sally, hurried to his side at once.
Sally was one of the new doctors who had been sent to the hospital to learn from the professionals for a period of one year before they took an examination that would ascertain whether they were ready to be inducted as fully-trained doctors or not.
She was a small-looking lady with an oval face that stood on a long neck. She had a pair of thick-rimmed glasses sitting on her nose. It made her look smart. Unlike the other female interns and doctors in the hospital, who preferred to use flat shoes to give them quick mobility around the hospital, Sally went on heels all the time. It made her a few inches taller, but she had to trade her convenience for those extra inches.
