“Come on, dear?” Elara called me, leading me to enter her city. As we walked, curious glances turned in our direction. Small children played in the square, jumping rope with the help of spells, as there was no one physically moving the rope, only magic. I closed my eyes, immersing myself in the scents that hung in the air. The smell of this magic was pure and innocent, something I had never experienced before.
“Can you smell the magic's fragrance?” Elara observed me with curiosity.
“Yes,” I said, opening my eyes to look at her. “It's sweet, light, and entirely unique.”
“Children's magic tends to be like that.” she smiled, leading me further into the city. “In the past, magic had only one tone and one cent...”
“And what changed?” I asked, intrigued.
“The world changed!” Elara sighed and continued. “Greed and curiosity took over; witches were no longer satisfied with the purity of primordial magic; they wanted more.”
