Chapter 21. At What Cost?
PRESENT DAY
The ground is wet from the incessant wailing of the sky, sticky from the abundance of spilled blood flowing alongside the water, a mixture morphing into a translucent shade of red as they travel combined.
All thoughts of glory are gone, and what is left is a fight for survival. This battle has sent thousands of men, heaped upon each other in all directions, to meet their ancestors. Those who are left alive battle like hungry lions, tearing flesh apart, feasting, and bathing in blood.
I see soldiers crying in anguish, begging to die, as some of the Amorites keep their prey alive while biting off chunks of flesh from their bodies, part by part. Utter insanity! Humanity degraded to lunacy, feasting on each other, those of similar anatomy.
