“I’m so happy to be with you three!” I exclaimed, bouncing on my toes from sheer excitement. Without missing a beat, I stretched out my arms wide and pulled Ashton, Damon, and Dylan into a big group hug, squeezing them tightly. “Promise me, all three of you… no thinking about problems tonight, okay? We’ll deal with all that tomorrow when we get Von’s results.”

I let go of the hug and took a step back, raising an eyebrow at each of them in turn, making sure they got the seriousness of my request despite the playful tone. I wasn’t going to let them get away without agreeing.

Then, lifting my right hand, I extended my pinky finger. “Pinky promise,” I declared with a grin. “So none of you can bring up or even think about any problems, deal?”

Even though I could see the amused, slightly skeptical smiles on their faces—they clearly thought the gesture was childish—they each hooked their pinky finger with mine one by one.
