Chapter 12
Kendra was so mad she refused to ride with Dorothea back to Four Seasons. She allowed the girls and Elsie to ride with her, as Alvin had already begun loading their luggage in the trunk of the cat by the time she got close enough to them. Dorothea simply sashayed past Kendra and climbed into the vehicle without uttering a single word to anybody. When Eva asked Kendra why she wasn’t getting into the car with them, Kendra explained how there would not be enough room for her, but she would be right behind them. She kissed both girls on the cheek and said goodbye to Elsie before shutting the car door and walking away. After a long wait, Kendra finally stopped an empty yellow taxi.
“Four Seasons?” She said as she leaned against the side of the car, peering into the car through the window.
