Jacob entered the villa, his eyes meeting Maddie’s with a reassuring glance. It had only been the first night that she had been here and he was already seeing a difference; or maybe he was just being delusional and paranoid. 

He could see the tension in her posture and offered her a comforting smile. “Hey,” He said softly, giving her a quick, supportive hug; taking in her perfume and allowing it to fill his senses. 

Maddie tried to steady her nerves, taking in Jacob’s calm demeanor. Seeing him calm sort of helped her, it made her feel a sense of calm too, that there was nothing to worry about and that everything was going to be okay.
